Since then, the Hervé family and their allies have given the town a countless number of elected representatives, mayors or town councillors. It was a cooper by the name of Edmond Olier who replanted the vineyards after they were wiped out by phylloxera. The very first châ;teau bottling dates back to 1890, which is almost certainly a record in the Fronsac region. Between the two World Wars, Edmond Olier’s son-in-law, Raoul Hervé, contributed to the excellent reputation of the wine. Today, it is his great grand nephew, Jean-Noë;l Hervé, who passionately devotes all his energy to the future of Châ;teau Moulin Haut Laroque, making a point of maintaining the age of the vineyard.
